Corvids are smarter than your average bird. They keep an eye on the neighborhood. And they're very graphic. That is, they're very striking on the page. Learn to create silhouettes of these canny creatures in different poses. Then paint a dead tree and populate it with a murder of crows. You'll discover that the birds are more colorful than they seem.

Learn to capture the essence of the pose by sketching quickly and painting just a little slower. Working with a clothed model, we’ll warm up with gesture drawings, then paint short poses with one color for the shadow. We will build up to painting a longer pose exploring how light interacts with the figure, revealing its form and details. We’ll let colors blend where the values are the same. Their figures were full of light and life.

Bring the family and work together to make holiday cards to share with loved ones. All art materials will be provided and each family can make a set of up to 20 cards. Its the perfect way to kick off a crafty holiday season. Up to four participants per registration. Ages five and up.

Looking for a creative night out? Whether you’re coming with a date, a friend, or just yourself, get ready to get a little messy in the ceramics studio! Join Mary Paulson for an evening of creating on the potter’s wheel. She will guide you through the process and offer options for decorating your piece.

Participants will choose their glaze, and we will handle the firing and finishing for you. Finished pieces can be picked up approximately one week after the event. Light refreshments will be available.

Remember to wear or change into clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Learn the art of decorating Easter eggs in the traditional Eastern European style known as pysanky. In this workshop, you will learn an ancient but easy-to-follow technique using a tool called a kistka to apply melted beeswax to raw eggs, which are then dipped in bright dyes to create detailed, colorful patterns. This hands-on class is fun, creative, and results in beautiful designs that will impress your family and friends. All supplies are provided.
